the story of the greenlandic man paddling in his kayak

..Så har vi allerede de to fremherskende træk i grønlandsk kunst, som stadig præger den: interessen for menneskefremstillingen og sansen for ornamentik.

the paddle chair is inspired by the greenland sea paddle.

In the past the only available wood in Greenland was driftwood. To protect the valuable wood the Inuits (as the Greenlandics call themselves)
reinforced the paddle with animal bones giving it a unique characteristic expression that is only found in Greenland.
The chair is made of solid smoked oak with oak on sides  and tip of the legs.
The  chair is named after a children's song which was used to train the children in learning how to paddle and hunt in a kayak.
